Sushi boy thunder is one of those fun on-the-go games that lack a real story, but if you did create a story for it would most likely be about a boy who ate too much sushi, got too fat, and decided to become bulimic.
Sushi Boy Thunder (SB Thunder) is a game available on the iOS platform, it’s also a flash game available on NewGrounds. The game is offered free, but you can pay for new characters that have different start-up stats. The goal of the game is to simply see how long you live. You can collect coins and sushi as you travel forever to the top of the screen while dodging bombs of varies sizes.
My one grievance with this game is that collecting coins and sushi do nothing towards your highscore! Getting sushi fills your belly which ultimately makes you spit our sushi to destroy bombs, which can be extremely useful. Though it’s hard to fill your belly about 2 and a half minutes in. You have to make the decision to journey out and risk taking a life or two to eat. You do get heath back over time, but that won’t help you too much once the game starts speeding up because once you hit one bomb you’ll hit them all.
Do yourself a favor if your playing on the iOS go to options and turn tap mode on. Otherwise, you’ll be tilting the screen like crazy, and if your like me you’ll get a little dizzy.
Probably my favorite thing about this game is the achievements. They give me a huge goal outside of beating anyone who dares
While this game isn’t anywhere close to being a GOTY contender, it is everything I would expect from a game on the go. Perfect boredom killer. WeFiends, the developers behind Sushi boy have also made a few other games to cure your boredom go waste a few hours, you won’t regret it.
(Did I mention the game is free?)
