With Kid Icarus: Uprising due out on March 23rd new details all launching left and right. Nintendo today has revealed more detail about the different multiplayer modes that will be available.
Light Vs. Dark: Two teams pitted against each other. You want to empty the enemies teams health meter, transforming their last defeated team member into an angel. The team who defeats the other teams angels wins. It’s an interesting concept since the focus of the battle shifts from dealing damage to protecting your angel, although I’d still like to be able to communicate with my team.
Free-For-All: Must I go over this ? Six players killing each other to get the greatest score in this winner-takes-all battle.
The Matches can be set up locally or through internet access. Whenever there is fewer than six players in a match a CPU will be placed to fill the roster. That CPU is customizable before the beginning of battle!
Many of the weapons collected in single-player mode can be used during the multiplayer matches, you can also earn more weapons as a reward of multiplayer play. Players will pick out their combinations of weapons and powers before entering a match. They want to create incentive for players going back to collect better weapons in the campaign. You also have the ability to fuse weapons together at the Arms Altar. This creates a stronger weapons and allows players to make something that will fit their fighting style.
StreetPassing is fun and with Kid Icarus you’ll be able to get Weapon Gems, which can be converted to real weapons by paying Hearts. You can also fuse Weapon Gems together to create even better weapons.

Honestly, the use of weapons and gems makes this game sound a little crazy. It’s to be expected though, especially since it’s from the developer of Smash Bros
