With Kid Icarus: Uprising due out on March 23rd new details all launching left and right. Nintendo today has revealed more detail about the different multiplayer modes that will be available.

Light Vs. Dark: Two teams pitted against each other. You want to empty the enemies teams health meter, transforming their last defeated team member into an angel. The team who defeats the other teams angels wins. It’s an interesting concept since the focus of the battle shifts from dealing damage to protecting your angel, although I’d still like to be able to communicate with my team.

Free-For-All: Must I go over this ? Six players killing each other to get the greatest score in this winner-takes-all battle.

The Matches can be set up locally or through internet access. Whenever there is fewer than six players in a match a CPU will be placed to fill the roster. That CPU is customizable before the beginning of battle!

Many of the weapons collected in single-player mode can be used during the multiplayer matches, you can also earn more weapons as a reward of multiplayer play. Players will pick out their combinations of weapons and powers before entering a match. They want to create incentive for players going back to collect better weapons in the campaign. You also have the ability to fuse weapons together at the Arms Altar. This creates a stronger weapons and allows players to make something that will fit their fighting style.

StreetPassing is fun and with Kid Icarus you’ll be able to get Weapon Gems, which can be converted to real weapons by paying Hearts. You can also fuse Weapon Gems together to create even better weapons.

After tweeting to Tim Schafer that he would be willing to fund Psychonauts 2, the internet exploded. (If you don’t consider that love enough for the game then I honestly don’t know what to tell you. ) Many fans were in a daze as to the possibility of a beloved cult classic getting a sequel. Finally though, Notch stepped out today and told us what he knows.

We saw an interview with Tim Schafer from Digital Spy stating that he had pitched the idea of Psychonauts 2 to a few publishers, but no one seemed enthralled by the thought. On the subject matter though he didn’t seem to want to completely drop the idea of a sequel.

“I’d love to do that game, but I’d have to convince someone to just give me a few million dollars, that’s all.” Continue reading »

Even more footage from Kid Icarus Uprising has emerged. This video shows off the control system of the game, and I can see why you would want that little stand now.

When the 3DS was announced Kid Icarus was the ‘big bang’ title. The title that brought the hype to the system, little did we imagine the game wouldn’t actually be launched until March 2012, almost a year after the system’s launch. Makes you wonder is it the game worth waiting for? Continue reading »

I’ll be at Devastation this year, working my first convention as press. I’m hopefully going to find some really fun people to interview and get a chance to talk to. Most my posts are going to be sent over to Shh-Mom, but chances are you’ll find a few make their way onto OpPrincess.

You can also follow me on:

  • twitter @Sug4rsh0ts where I’ll be updating via phone all day.
  • tumblr AlwaysRunForward where I’ll be random spamming while I take breaks at the local Starbucks :)

If anyone is heading to the event, whether it be to compete or what have you, HIT ME UP!  I’d love to have a chat with you! I’ve already got a couple of people I plan on tracking down.

Third Parties were complaining when the 3DS decided to not release a second analog stick for their newest handheld. In reality hasn’t the functions of the second analog been fulfilled by the touch in the pass? Let’s weigh out some pros and cons. Continue reading »

Onlive

If you’ve been to any gaming blog in the past year chances are you’ve ran across the name Onlive. If you’ve read any of those articles the brief summary has always been, “This is the future.” Well, if your one of the ones who don’t visit gaming blogs often, or maybe you didn’t open that article let me tell you about Onlive in a nutshell. Basically they’re offering a service where you can stream games straight to your PC, Mac, or Television set. There’s no special device needed, unless you stream to you TV, and there’s also no download required. With no download required you’ll be able to pick your game and play it almost instantaneously. Right now they offer a monthly plan that covers about 60+ games for $10 a month. It is a pretty good deal for that quantity, I don’t feel ready to subscribe myself, but that’s due to other games on my plate. I figure if you can find at least 4-5 games you want to play, as long as you’re not taking a month to beat each game, it would be a worth while investment.
